Iminopyridine Ni(II) Catalysts Affording Oily Hyperbranched Ethylene Oligomers and/or Crystalline Polyethylenes Depending on the Reaction Conditions: Possible Role of In Situ Catalyst Structure Modifications

چکیده

Nickel-based ethylene polymerization catalysts have unique features, being able to produce macromolecules with a variable content of branches, resulting in polymers ranging from semicrystalline plastics elastomers hyperbranched amorphous waxes and oils. In addition Brookhart’s α-diimine catalysts, iminopyridine Ni(II) complexes are among the most investigated systems. We report that bearing aryliminopyridine ligands bulky substituents both at imino moiety 6-position pyridine afford either low molecular weight polyethylene oils or prevailingly linear crystalline polyethylenes both, depending on ligand structure reaction conditions. The formation multiple active species situ is suggested by analysis post-polymerization catalyst residues, showing partial reduction function. Some related arylaminopyridine were also synthesized tested, peculiar behavior, i.e., number branches produced increases while pressure increases.

the effect of taftan pozzolan on the compressive strength of concrete in the environmental conditions of oman sea (chabahar port)

cement is an essential ingredient in the concrete buildings. for production of cement considerable amount of fossil fuel and electrical energy is consumed. on the other hand for generating one tone of portland cement, nearly one ton of carbon dioxide is released. it shows that 7 percent of the total released carbon dioxide in the world relates to the cement industry. considering ecological issu...

the effects of changing roughness on the flow structure in the bends

flow in natural river bends is a complex and turbulent phenomenon which affects the scour and sedimentations and causes an irregular bed topography on the bed. for the reason, the flow hydralics and the parameters which affect the flow to be studied and understand. in this study the effect of bed and wall roughness using the software fluent discussed in a sharp 90-degree flume bend with 40.3cm ...

Coordination polymerization in water affording amorphous polyethylenes.

The coordination polymerization of ethylene in water as a reaction medium was studied. Rubbery amorphous branched polyethylene was obtained when a known cationic diimine-substituted methyl complex was employed as a catalyst precursor. High rates of up to 900 TOh(-1) (turnover frequency) were observed. In contrast to solution polymerization in an organic solvent, the rate of suspension polymeriz...

process conditions in preparation of mgcl2 adduct on crystalline structure of the support in zn catalyst

mgcl2/c2h5oh adducts with constant relative ratio of 1/3 were prepared and kept at 120oc for different lengths of times of 5, 10, 20, 30, 50, 90,120 and 220 h. then the samples were quenched and analyzed by xrd and bet. no meaningful changes were observed in the specific surface area of the samples, while xrd spectra showed 3 peaks at 2θ<15o for samples kept at 120oc for 5 h. these 3 peaks were...
